What is the Leed Green Building Rating System?
The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System is a voluntary standard for developing environmentally responsible, low emission, high-performance, sustainable buildings. Individual materials and products used in buildings are not certified. The Version 2.1 certification process is for the entire construction project. The project earns “points” towards becoming certified. The categories where points can accumulate for Global partition products are as follows: Local Regional Materials: LEED V2.1 awards 1 point if 20% of the building materials are manufactured (final assembly) regionally within 500 miles of the project site. This contributes to Credit 5.1 of the "Materials & Resources" area.

Materials & Resources (Building Reuse): LEED V2.1 awards 1 point if the material maintains 100% of existing building structure and shell (exterior skin and framing) and at least 50% of non-shell areas (floor coverings, walls, doors, and ceilings).

Low Emitting Materials: LEED V2.1 awards 1 point (Credit 4.1 of "Indoor Environmental Quality" area) if the VOC content of adhesives is less than the current limit specified in SCAQMD Rule #1168, and 1 point (Credit EQ 4.4) if the engineered wood and agri-fiber products contain no added urea-formaldehyde resins.

HYUNDAI L&C USA PRODUCTS QUALIFY FOR LEED CERTIFICATION POINTS AS FOLLOWS:

LEED Category: Possible Points

HanStone Quartz: Local Regional Materials
1 max
Credit (1pt): Hyundai L&C USA has a network of approximately 6000 HanStone Quartz Fabricators and Installers nationwide. The final assembly of most installations would be within 500 miles of the construction site.

Materials & Resources
1 max
Credit (1pt): HanStone Quartz is highly durable and will remain so throughout the life of the building. If the requirements to existing building structure and shells are met, the use of HanStone products can contribute Leed points in this category.

Low Emitting Materials
1 max (EQ4.1)
Credit (1pt): The joint sealants and adhesives used in HanStone Quartz installations have low VOC emissions and fall within the current standard set by both the Bay Area Air Quality Management Districts and SCAQMD
